Why Support Strong Sisters?

  • Show support for Colorado history, for Colorado elected women, and for Colorado’s thriving independent and documentary film scene.
  • Receive a tax-deduction for your contribution. Strong Sisters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Donations to the project are tax deductible. 
  • Honor leaders of the past and inspire leaders of the future.   
  • Your donation will be used to provide screenings and presentations to organizations and schools who do not have the ability to pay for a presentation. Donations will also be used to edit our 76 interviews into a collection of oral histories that can be used for academic and research purposes.

$25,000     Petticoat Government Sponsor (with opening credit): In 1929 the Town of Grover elected an all-woman board to enforce law and order. Elizabeth Lower becomes Mayor.
$10,000     Virginia Blue Sponsor (with opening credit): First female State Treasurer in Colorado.
$5,000       Ruth Small Stockton Sponsor: First woman to serve on and Chair the JBC, First female President pro-tem of the Senate.
$2,500       Arie Taylor Sponsor: First African-American woman to serve in the Colorado House.
$1,000       Helen Ring Robinson Sponsor: First woman to serve in the Colorado Senate.
$500          Betty Benevidez Sponsor: First Latina elected to General Assembly.
$250          Agnes Riddle Sponsor: First woman to serve in both chambers.
$100          Elizabeth Pellet Sponsor: First woman elected to top leadership position in the House (House Minority Leader), First Colorado woman to run for Congress.
